If you own an Xbox Series X|S console, I highly recommend you give Bright Memory: Infinite a go. Shelia's weapons and abilities can all be customized to your preference as you level them up, and her mech arm is an absolute delight to use, offering the ability to blast enemies with fire, launch them through the air, and all manner of other awesome actions. The game's protagonist, Shelia, is an agent sent to a Chinese region to discover the cause of mysterious weather patterns, only to find a black hole connecting our world with another and spewing out monstrous creatures. It plays similarly to the Shadow Warrior games, so expect enemy-filled levels that will see you battling it out with bosses during key moments of the story. It's the sequel to Playism's short and sweet Bright Memory, and while Infinite offer a little more playtime than its predecessor, it's still a short, fun, and action-packed game you can finish in around ten hours or so. If you like fast-paced, single-player FPS games with absolutely gorgeous graphics, Bright Memory: Infinite is well worth a look. The intriguing story combined with the excellent world-building Remedy is known for, the attention to detail, and fast-paced combat really make Control a special game that is definitely worthy of your attention. The story here is compelling and slowly unravels as you explore the Oldest House and the mysteries hidden within - when I played this on PC, I couldn’t put it down and just had to find out what was in the next dimly lit room or tucked away deep in the bowels of the building. As Jesse Faden, the newly-appointed head of the bureau, you are tasked with defeating an enemy known as the Hiss, which has invaded the bureau’s headquarters, the Oldest House. Review 'Trinity Trigger' Is a Fun But Forgettable Retro-Inspired RPG. If you’re unfamiliar with what Control is all about, it’s a third-person action-adventure game with Metroidvania elements that revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control - a secretive government agency investigating and studying paranormal phenomena. Bright Memory Infinite will be released for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in 2021. This edition includes the Xbox Series X|S version of Control, both expansions (The Foundation and AWE), and the Xbox One version of the game - that’s a lot of achievements you have there to keep you busy. Control: Ultimate Edition is currently 75% off its list price, which means you can pick it up for just $9.99 / £8.74 / €9.99. This is one of the easiest achievement in the game, Relics are the blue fragment dropped by the ancient enemies and also can be found by destroying crates in the enviroment. I’m highlighting Control: Ultimate Edition this week because it’s hit a record-low price on the Xbox store, making it an absolute steal. ![]() It’s a wonderful game - plus, it’ll prepare you for the equally wholesome Chicory: A Colorful Tale, which comes from the same creator, and joins Game Pass this month.Īt this point, you don’t need me to tell you that Control is a good game (spoiler alert, I’m going to anyway) it saw critical acclaim and was praised by many when it launched back in 2019. But through sheer kindness, optimism, and hope for all the universe, we strive to save the day anyway. We are at best a musical oddity and at worse a noisy nuisance. See, there is already a hero in Wandersong, and it’s made very clear that we, the bard, are not that hero. You dance and sing through an adventure that should be entirely terrifying - you’re trying to use the Earthsong to save the universe - but which is saved by the heartfelt optimism of the game. We play as a bard, who tends to bemuse and irritate everyone by insisting on handling everything through musical interaction. You can technically whizz through the game in under an hour, but Wandersong is definitely worth taking your time with it’s such a joyful experience full of color, humor, and whimsy. I will always recommend Wandersong, but it’s especially tempting at 75% off. ![]()
